The Monochrome Cowl Knit-along and Lace Class

The Monochrome Cowl Knit-along and Lace Class

Knit-along with us!  Lace patterns in knitting add texture, interest, and beauty to many projects.  The Monochrome Cowl by Joji Locatelli is no exception.  The project showcases four different lace stitches separated by fields of stockinette that allows each lace pattern to shine.  Join us for a knit-along of this lovely new pattern -- casting on Sunday, May 7 with progress meet-ups on June 4 and July 9, and a finished project show-and-tell on August 6!

Class!  If you'd like to familiarize yourself with the stitches included in the Monochrome Cowl before you cast on for the knit-along, join us for the Monochrome Lace Knitting Class on Saturday, May 6!  We'll discuss the Monochrome Cowl pattern, learn about knitting lace from written instructions and from charts, and practice each of the four lace stitches that are featured in the cowl - all while making a charming cup cozy (some people use them as wrist warmers instead!).

The class:
⦁    1:00 - 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 6th
⦁    Class fee - $40

You'll need:
⦁    A purchased copy of the Monochrome Cowl pattern
⦁    ~60 yards of fingering weight yarn
⦁    Size US2 or 2.5 double point needles OR 9" circular needle

Pre-class instructions:
⦁    Cast-on 60 stitches.  Follow the Monochrome pattern (without changing needle size - just pick a size and stick with it) until you have six total rows of ribbing.  Knit two rounds in stockinette.  We'll be ready to dive right into the lace when we get to class!
